Lower body lift

There are many reasons for weight loss: extreme diets, changes in eating habits and regular exercise. Bariatric operations, especially a gastric bypass, also reduce body weight sustainably.

More beautiful body silhouette with a toned stomach

Unfortunately, after major weight loss, the body silhouette is not entirely correct. A lower body lift that tones the stomach, hips and corrects the back ensures a pleasing overall look.

After losing weight for a long time, you've achieved your goal weight but are still only partially satisfied with your appearance. Excess skin and sagging abdominal skin interfere with everyday life: your clothes don't fit and you feel inhibited during sports and in everyday life. A lower body lift (stomach, hips, back) can have a positive impact on your overall appearance and self-confidence.

In this demanding operation, the silhouette of the entire lower body is redefined in a single operation. Thanks to the maximum tightening effect, the lower body, stomach and lower back can be reshaped.

How perfect the end result is depends on various factors. This includes your starting weight, secondary conditions, maintenance of a steady body weight, optimal wound healing and consistent adherence to aftercare measures.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result permanent?

Generally, the more stable your body weight, the higher the chance of a lasting result. However, with only a slight weight increase, you can expect a permanent improvement in the body's silhouette.

Do the scars remain visible?

With a body lift after weight loss, a gentle “all-around correction” of the body's silhouette is possible. The surgical scars are placed in such a way that they can be covered with underwear or a bathing suit.

Is it advisable to donate your own blood?

Blood loss during a body lift is equivalent to that of a standard surgical procedure. A blood transfusion is usually not necessary.

How long will I be unable to work?

The inability to work depends on the physical requirements of your job. As a rule, however, expect to be unable to work for approximately two to three weeks.

When will I be able to exercise again?

Sport activities can be resumed after healing has finished (after approx. six to eight weeks).

Are there any risks associated with this procedure?

In principle, every operation involves certain risks (e.g. post-operative bleeding, drug intolerance, wound healing disorders, inflammation, scarring, sensory disorders). They also depend on the individual's state of health. The doctor will inform you and discuss possible risks with you during the consultation and preparatory meetings.

Does health insurance pay for this procedure?

A body lift is usually not paid for by health insurance.

Do I have to tell you if I am taking medication?

It is extremely important that you always inform the treating doctor about any illnesses and medications you are taking. You should cease taking any blood-thinning medications (aspirin, aspegic or omega-3 fatty acids) two weeks before the procedure. Such medications can cause increased bleeding during surgery and delay the subsequent healing process. The doctor may decide not to perform a planned operation at any time if the surgical risk is increased as a result of the prior use of medication.
